Enjoy a leisurely walk amidst the endless expanse of live farms around. Not many things in life are more calming than a stroll in the colorful fields, rural scenery, sounds of nature, and the chirping of birds. Say aloud “Sat Sri Akaal” (Greetings in Punjabi) to the farmers to hear their equally loud and warm greeting in reply with a bright smile on their faces.
Cycling through the beautiful countryside is the best way to observe the locals at your own pace. There are various cycling loops to choose from, ranging from a few hundred meters (in and around our farm) to a few kilometers through villages, crossing canals, or touching the River Beas.
A visit to a farm is incomplete without the experience of working with soil, plants, crops, etc. We would like to invite you to become a farmer for an hour for a deeper understanding of farm life. Depending on the season & crop, you may try your hands on simple farming tasks like sowing weeding, tilling, mulching, watering, pruning, harvesting, etc.
Tractors played a major role in the success of the Green Revolution of the 1970s in Punjab and became an inseparable part of the life of Punjabi farmers. Enjoy a ride on a tractor on the country back roads and visit the nearby village or the Gurudwara. You may also try to learn how to drive this gentle giant, with the farmer as an instructor by your side.
Bullock carts are an endangered species in Punjab. Enjoy this rare ride through the farmlands or the village streets and watch the rural life in slow motion. If you are lucky, the driver of the bullock cart may invite you to his house for a cup of fresh milk.
Tube-wells are an essential part of a farm in Punjab and the subject of so many popular Punjabi songs. A dip in a beautiful tube-well plunge pool is a perfect desi way to cool off on a hot summer day or on a sunny winter afternoon.
Visiting a village Gurudwara offers you arguably the best chance to observe the religious rituals of Sikhs, essentially because of the unhurried and relaxed pace of rural life. It is a real treat to sit inside the Gurudwara during the evening prayers, listening to Kirtan (holy hymns) and witnessing locals coming in to offer their prayers.
Visit the villages around to explore the rural life of Punjab. Pass through its market, stop by for a chit chat with a local, visit jaggery maker (winters only) to see how sugarcane juice turns into delicious “Gur”. You may also visit a village school (except weekends & holidays).
Both Yoga and farming are deeply connected with nature. If you practice Yoga, our farm will provide a perfect backdrop for an immersive Yoga session. For learners, a teacher can be arranged (on prior request) for a basic Yoga class.
